Hello! Great that you found your way here. I would like to shortly introduce myself:

My name is Nicola Elisabeth Lauer. I was born on December 17th, 1969 in Dorsten, I am married and have three sons.

I started riding at the age of eleven, first with vaulting and then with riding lessons on school horses. Later I had foster ponies and horses that I rode myself in at an early age. I had little interest in tournament sport, but I rode up to class M in dressage and up to L class in jumping. I have the silver riding badge. My favorite activity is riding on and correcting young horses. For this reason I got the trainer's license for class -B- competitive sport for young horse training and in my sideline I trained horses and gave riding lessons. I am continuously educating myself through the Equestrian Association (FN), because I find the seminars very exciting, so I can stay up to date and bring new ideas into my training.

After graduating from high school in social pedagogy, I began training with the police in 1989. In addition to the property protection service and patrol duty, I also did my service for five years in the service dog squad as a protective and explosives detection dog handler and eleven years in the Düsseldorf and Dortmund equestrian squadrons. As one of the first two women, I was employed in the Düsseldorf equestrian relay, which was ridden by Klaus Balkenhol at a very high equestrian level. My fields of activity were patrol duty and emergency situations, especially in football matches and demonstrations. After the closing of the rider squadrons in North Rhine-Westphalia (short political phase), my trusty service horse Orion changed hands for a fair price and I switched to the service dog handlers to the K9 unit. Here I got my then two-year-old service dog Pecco, which was an absolute stroke of luck. Pecco was downright cuddly and absolutely neutral in everyday life, while on duty he immediately switched to his "cue" without compromise and remained very docile. Because of his good disposition we were allowed to attend the explosives detection dog course and from then on we were one of 40 teams in North Rhine-Westphalia. This expanded the service, which was already exciting in itself, to the whole country.

With the birth of my children, I was unfortunately no longer able to continue my full-time job and switched to patrol duty close to home. At that time, part-time work was not yet possible in special agencies. Pecco stayed with me.

In 2011 part-time was made possible and there were now two of the originally eleven equestrian squadrons in North Rhine-Westphalia. So I applied to the relay in Dortmund, was hired and used as a trainer and in emergency situations.  

​

Actually, I only attended a naturopathic school (Hufelandschule in Senden) with a friend out of interest and my affinity for further education. In 2016 I passed the exam to become a naturopath at the health department in Borken. The medicinal field has in aroused great interest and I literally caught fire. Curious about more and with a particular interest in the psyche, I first educated myself in  solution-oriented short-term therapy and later in cognitive behavioral therapy and hypnosis.

In 2019 I started studying psychology at the FernUni Hagen.

I'm no longer with the police. I work as a riding instructor and horse trainer and I am the landlady of a holiday apartment in Raesfeld-Erle.
